Then known as the Omaha Classic, our first ever event in Omaha was put together on short notice after the local organising committee pulled out. This was the first ever time that Rahui Te Kiri reserve had been used as an event venue - what an amazingly successful move that was to prove to be! Almost 400 hardy individuals signed up to take part in the 5k and 10k events or the kids dash ... held on courses almost identical to those used today.
