The second ever Maraetai Half Marathon featured record entries but almost 25% of those entered didn't race that day. Why? The COVID Pandemic - up until then an overseas phenomenon - had arrived in NZ, with all the uncertainty that brought. In fact, New Zealand went into its first lockdown less than a week later. For those who did turn out - and over 2,000 finished on the day - they were treated to an east coast spectacular with another stellar day in this stunning part of the world.
